i have an 02 wrangler x with a small 2 inch lift and 32 inch tires and not too sure what width they are (sorry) but i know i do need about 2 extra inches (1 1/2 inches will work but will be cutting it close) in order to fully cover the width of the tires. i want the rubicon style of flares in the matte black. yet i dont know if i should go as far out as 6 inches…any reccommendations?

you could get bushwhackers
Check out quadratec.com for some fender flares. they have all different sizes and styles. here is the direct link to the page:

I agree, go with the bushwacker pocket style flares. they look really awesome. (fyi, bushwacker makes a 6″ flare if thats what you need)
