What Type of Camping Gear Do you Need

June15

You will need the tent or camper for sure, but you also need gear such as pet camping supplies if you have a pet along, flashlights, a portable grill, lawn furniture, coolers, and heaters and insect repellent. If you think about it, you will probably need it when you are camping. This goes for your cooking supplies, bedding, and cleaning and bathing supplies. When you go camping, you do need some camping gear to be happy and safe.

A good resource for camping gear is http://www.greatcampingideas.com/store

The number one thing on your list for pet camping gear should be the pet tag that is motion activated. This going to help you see the dog, but also allows others to see the dog when it is pitch black outside. This is going to protect your pet and others from a potentially dangerous encounter. You should also include a dog bed or a lounger for them. The lounger is nice because it keeps them off the ground. The pet gear should also include a first aid kit, toys and enough food and water. Different water sources can affect a dog’s body and can cause diarrhea.

Other Camping Gear

You might even need to bring along a repair kit for your camper top or tent. If you do discover a leak, you are going to need to repair it even if it is temporary, so you do not have any rain or bugs getting inside. Camping gear should also include a first aid kit. No one knows for sure that they will not cut their finger or need some antibiotic cream. You should also have plenty of batteries or a rechargeable battery for the any of your gear that requires batteries.

You should also have camping gear that includes binoculars, hunting knife, and rain gear and of course, tin foil. Once you have everything you need, you should be all set to get out on the road and find a great place to camp. Camping equipment is actually anything that you think you might need. Some people will not need the pet camping gear, but some may need gear for kids. The idea behind camping is to have everything that is going to make it fun, safe and relaxing. Whatever you need to accomplish this should be a part of your camping gear.

Need a location for tent camping in southern new hampshire or maine?

May18

I live in Boston and my buddy lives in Portland, ME. I would like to find some place within two hours of both cities to take our families camping. We prefer rustic camping and I dislike RV’s. I think the Old Orchard / southern Saco River area is too built up – too noisy and too busy. Any ideas?

RV Camping Tips That You Need To Know About

May6

One of the great things about RVs and motorhomes is that you can take your home with you as you travel instead of staying in a series of hotel rooms. However, you will have to arrange a place to park your RV though and most often that will be in a campground. So these are some rv camping tips that you will need to know to be able to camp successfully as you travel, and here they are:

* Probably the smartest investment that you can make for RV travel is to buy one or both of the major campground directories and use them regularly to map out your overnight stays in advance. It’s a good idea to make your camping reservations in advance just to be sure that you have a place waiting for you when you arrive, and both Woodall’s and the Trailer Life directories have loads of campgrounds listed that you can choose from. Quite a few are not repeated in both books, so it may be very advantageous to have them both if you are on the road quite a bit of the time.

* If you aren’t already familiar with a particular campground, it can be a wise move to only arrange a one night stay there even if you plan to be in the area for several days. The one night stay will help you decide if this campground is a good fit for you. Many RVers have bought multi-night packages to save money only to find that the campground was not what they had originally thought. So just making a one night reservation lets you become familiar with your camping arrangements and if all is well you can always get a multi-night package afterward. If the accommodations are not up to scratch, then you can just look elsewhere for the second night.

* You really should have a membership to the Good Sam Club for many reasons, but one of the big ones is that a membership in their club can get you 10% off on overnight fees at most campgrounds across the country. This essentially means that you would be staying free for every 10th night or so and if you travel a lot that can add up to quite a bit of money.

* For those that are over 62 and like to visit our country’s national parks, you can get a Golden Age Passport that costs only $10 for processing and will entitle the carrier to free entry to any national park across the country for life. It also gets you 50% off on all usage fees if you decide to stay overnight. Again, if you like to visit the national parks this can result in considerable savings over time.

Using these rv camping tips can help you save money and time and help you focus on the thing that you really want to do, enjoy yourself as you travel this great country.

I need help finding a good campground within 60 or so miles of Kansas City?

April12

We are new to camping, so I am not familiar with a lot of campgrounds in the area. I need to find a place to take my family that is relatively close to KC (though we are willing to drive some) and I need a campsite that has access to electric because my husband has sleep apnea. We also need a place that feels like we are far out with room to run and hike and allows campfires. Oh, and one more thing…. they must allow dogs. Anyone had any good experiences with a site they would like to share?
