My boyfriend and I are going camping this weekend with some friends for 2 nights. Neither of us have ever been camping before so I was hoping we could get some camping tips!
We know to pack light, that it’s all about keeping it simple.
We know that there will be access to bathrooms, showers, and grills.
We know the temperature will probably be in the 70s during the day and the 50s at night.
We know to bring our tent, air mattress, and sleeping bags.
…That’s about all we know haha.
What is best to wear (clothes, shoes, etc.)? We will be doing some light hiking along a stream and our feet will probably get wet.
What kind of food should we bring? How do we store it? (If we bring hotdogs and burger in a cooler with ice, will the ice last 2 whole days?) How do we prepare it?
Is there anything we really MUST bring?
Is there anything we really SHOULD NOT bring? (aka anything that will attract animals that will eat us…?)
THANKS A LOT!!
“TheCuriousCooker”, you must be confused. This is the section where you answer questions, not ask them. But, I’ll humor you. We’re in college. Camping is not big where we’re from, but it’s something we’ve always wanted to do.

Delaware River Family Campground
I have been searching but I’m not having a lot of luck. My family and I would like to go away for Memorial Day weekend but also need a campground on the water, that accepts pets AND has kid’s activities. We tried Salt Springs but they are booked. We live in Vero Beach and would prefer something within 3 hours since we have to tow the camper and sea doos separately.
Thanks a bunch!
