What to bring for Camping Lake Placid NY?

November28

Hi there!
Me and my Boyfriend are going camping to lake Placid Saturday, and Honestly i’m not too sure what to pack!
We’ll be there for 2 days…. and because we’re crossing the border ( with all the food restriction) we’ll get those when we get there!
We have a tent – blow up matress ( all sleeping gear)
we’ll get from a friend a portable BBQ, bring a cooler,
probably a portable radio, camera, swimming gear..

Am i forget anything??
Thanks

If the other answerer is correct, that it gets cool at night. I want to tell you, the blow up matresses do not get warm. There is no thickness to the bedding to hold in your body heat – great for summer.. but you maybe want to find a warm wool blanket to put on the bottom, electric blanket maybe 9 if there is electric available) or maybe a down filled sleeping bag or something ont he bottom. You may want to bring some type of heater. Or at least some good warm wool socks. Keeping your toes warm will go a long way in keeping your whole body warm. As well.. if you need a last minute on the fly heater… you can look this up on the net too.. its legit. Take a roll of toilet paper, put it into a coffee can that is big enough for it. Pour a bottle of isopropyl rubbing alcohol into it.. let it soak into the TP real good. You can light this and it will provide heat for serveral hours. The TP acts as a wick and isopropyl alcohol burns very slowly, and clean. You don;t have to worry about it being back for your lungs. as well.. its always the small things that one forgets. Like matches and/ or a lighter. maybe refills bottles for the portable BBQ. a pocket knife, or swiss army knife. flashlight.. I like to use the focus lamps that you can sit ont he ground. for cooking.. you will need dishes. I suggest 1 skillet, 1 sauce pan, i large spoon, i spatula, coffee pot which can be used not only for coffee, but cooking a second food item, or boiling water, etc. 2 plates, and 2 sets of silverware. 2 cups. You might want to bring at least one towel for both of you to share, 2 if you have space. Bar of soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, you will want most of your basic personal hygiene items. Some type of detergent to wash our your dishes. can opener…jeez.. lots!

I would bring a big gun and some hand grenades in case you run into one of those big alligators. At the end of the movie they were just babies, but I bet they’re pretty big now.
