Jeep 4″ lift and 33×12.5r15 tires…?

I found a place that can give me a 4″ lift, 5 tires, rims, and a spare tire mount for my jeep wrangler. I can get it for $2400.00. Now I know I’m gonna need a tune up and new brakes, but now much will the brakes and recalibrating the spedomoter be?

Brake not real sure but the speedo you can do it yourself. Have a friend drive next to you or use a GPS and see how fast you are going and look at your speedo. With 33″ tires you should be around 5 mph slow. Next go to a 4X4 shop and tell them you trans type and how far off your speedo is and they will give you a gear that goes in the trans where the cable goes in. If you have an electronic trans then the dealer or 4X4 shop can do it for you at a nominal price. You can also save money by doing an axle flip instead of a spring lift. It’s instead of the axels being on top of the springs the springs are on top of the axels. You can use all the same parts but will need a welder and a little planning to get the spring pads in the correct spot after cutting them off to flip them.

You will want to install new gears to help with the oversized tires.
That is a decent deal depending on the wheel, tires and lift. What does the lift include? a 3″ body lift with a block or spacer is not a good lift.
What year is your Jeep? If I know, I can better answer your question.
Your Jeep should have a spare tire mount stock.
As far as brakes, it depends on what year the Jeep is. My 79 CJ-7 stops just fine with stock brakes, so does my 91 YJ (both on 33′s), but my 05 Unlimited Rubicon does not stop worth a poo with 37″ tires. It NEEDS bear larger brakes bad, so it sits a lot. When it had 33′s, it stopped just fine. 35′s were not bad.

don’t go for the lift if its an add-a-leaf pack either. go for full leafs (assuming you have rear leaf springs). no budget-boosters or blocks either. full coils/leaves

Speedometer gears can be found thru 4 Wheel Parts. Just tell them what differential gear ration you have, the transmission, and what size tires and they will sell you the proper tooth speedo gear. Keep in mind that its a ratio, so as your speed goes up, so will the MPH that your stock gear is off by, ie 5 at 50, 7 at 60, 10 at 70 etc.

As for the brakes, unless yours are bad now, you don’t need to change them out just cuz you’re getting a lift. You will need longer brake lines, but those SHOULD come with the lift kit if its a good quality one.
