I need to buy tires for my Jeep Wrangler. But I have 10..5″ x 15″ wheels. What sizes are compatible with this size wheel? I am on a tight budget and need to find tires that are inexpensive.
I actually have about 9″ rims not 10.5 as previously indicated. I still need to find the right size tire that is smaller that 31″ tall preferably 28″ or lower that will fit perfectly just road tires not offroad.

You have a catch 22 10″ wide rims are designed for tires that are 12.5″ or wider. You can put a 31X10.50 on them although you will have absolutley nothing protecting the wheels and the first time you want to do a little off roading, even really mild off-roading you will probably damage the wheels. However Super Swamper ($$$) offers some short wide tires you could probably use. the LTB is offered in a 31X11.50 The SSR is offered in a 31X12.50 Boggers also are offered in a 31X12.50 the SX is offered in a 31X13.50 and the ThornChicken (KING of Trailer Queens) is offered in a 31X12.50 ONE other tire you may want to consider since you said UNDER 31″‘s and all the above are a 31 is the Swamp SSR which is offered in a 29X11.50 http://www.tyres1.com has just about the cheapest pricing on tires I have come across and they offer the 29X11.50 for $145 a tire–This really is your only option to get a nice proprtionate looking tire/wheel combo, Unless you wanna put some 30X9.50′s on it, get Hydro’s and hopefully the 15X10′s you have are gold 300 spoke wire wheels. You could even add the curb feelers.
235/75R15 (approx. a 29X8.50) as previosuly suggested is defiantley a NO I don’t even think they would seat the beads on a 15X10 rim and would look REALLLLLLLLLY Ridiculous if they did.
Keith C said it. they need to be at least than 12.5 inches wide. Most people prefer tires about 4″ wider than the rim for off-roading. Even at 12.5 inches you will still damage the rim if you off road it.
Sell your wider wheels and buy 8″ instead. It may sound like a hassle, but it’ll pay off in the long run.
Look for used tires on craigslist and on message boards if your budget is tight. Guys are always looking to go bigger so they sell their smaller and 31s are a very common first step in off road circles. 31″ tires are usually closer to 30″ tall when you measure them.
265/75R15 if you want a road tire. if you want a all-terrain tire 31/12.5R15. these will fit. 235/70R15 are to small
