Help with lift kit on a jeep.?

Ok so i have a 1998 jeep wrangler and i am wanting to put black rims and mud tires on it to make it look a lot better. I have already picked out the rims and the tires but i want to lift it 3 or 4 inches and i dont know anything about lift kits or suspension in general. So does anyone have any suggestion for me to put on my jeep?

BTW these are the rims and tires im getting let me know if you think they would look good on my jeep thanks.

Your 98 Wrangler is the TJ model. TerraFlex makes 1 of the best wrangler lift kits aval. Fabtech and Procomp are also good lifts. I like a 4″ lift on a wrangler as it gives you many more tire size options. 3″ lift max tire size is 33×12.50 – 4″ lift max tire size 35×12.50. 6″ lift max size 37×12.50. I do suggest going with a long arm kit cause the arms are adjustable to correct alignment (caster) angle. Adjustable trac bar is a must. It allows you to center the axle to the center of the jeep. Dropped pitman arm, lessens the angle of the steering geometry (helps control bump steer). Dual steering stabelizer.(helps control bump steer) Nitro shocks. . A good site to look at lift kits and prices is 4wheelonline.com and their kits are on sale till june 1. another good site is 4wheelparts.com.
I hope this helps Good luck

You’ll need about 3″ to fit those tires and (hopefully) avoid the drive line vibrations that come from lifting a vehicle with such a short drive shaft. The OME suspension that was linked is top notch, rides much better than factory and won’t shake your teeth loose. Their 2.5″ lift (they run more like 3) and a 1″ body lift or spring spacers will get you plenty of room for those tires. Look for a complete kit – you’ll need sway bar disconnects, bump stops, and either new track bars or track bar relocation brackets. Possibly longer brake lines – I can’t remember. If your get the vibrations from a 3″ lift, which is unlikely, you’ll need to either lower the xfer case with a drop kit (cheap) or put in a slip yoke eliminator (preferred but very expensive)
