What are shock-corded fiberglass poles for tents?

March9

I’m buying a new family tent and want to avoid the old metal pole system that can take forever to figure out. Are the shock-corded the type that connect several smaller poles via an inserted cord? Thanks!

they are tent poles that have an elastic cord that joins 2 or more poles. that gets you away from the old school metal poles

Fiberglass ( or aluminum ) shock corded poles will really simplify the set up and take down process. I would lean towards one made with aluminum to take advantage of the weight savings. I don’t know of any quality (keep you dry) tents that wont come shock corded.
    Hope that helps
